Evacuation kit - why is it needed?

You are probably wondering in which situations an evacuation kit is useful. Evacuation is the organised movement of people from a place of danger to a safe area.

There are several types of evacuation

Planned evacuation - is prepared at a safe time, carried out regularly as a drill, and carried out during a period of emergency. It most often prepares for hazards such as fire, attack by armed forces, disaster or flooding.

Emergency evacuation - involves taking immediate action to move an endangered population or individual to a safe location.

Most often, evacuation is carried out by the emergency services in an organised and safe manner.

Unfortunately, it is often the case that we have to rely solely on ourselves for a period of time. It is a good idea to prepare for such an eventuality and take responsibility for your own safety and that of your loved ones. Familiarise yourself with the building's evacuation plan (it does not hang in the corridor for decoration), or draw up your own. Have a plan of action prepared and rehearsed, covering the most likely hazards in your area. It is a good idea to prepare an evacuation kit in advance, preferably with ready-made equipment. When the need arises, take it and move away to a safe place.

Evacuation kit - what does it do

An evacuation kit is designed to take care of our basic needs when we are on our own. The most popular evacuation kit is the Help Bag™. What makes it different?

The Help Bag™ ready evacuation kit provides, among other things, basic access to energy, warmth, hygiene and dressing supplies, and with its mask and protective goggles will give you the opportunity to safely evacuate a smoky or contaminated area. A cooking module and a sleeping bag along with an inflatable pillow will help to recuperate.

Taking it with you on longer trips will really make you feel safer. Such a kit does not take up much space, so you can keep it at the exit of your house/apartment or in the car boot.

Evacuation kit in the city

A prolonged power cut, for example, has happened to all of us. This is when phones usually go down, lights go out and users of electric cookers are also deprived of access to hot meals. With the Help Bag™ evacuation kit, we will be able to wait calmly for the electricity to be restored, as we will have items such as a power bank, radio, torch and even a gas burner at hand.
