Shovel
Features
Use it for...
A saw built into the blade. With the serrated edge, you can cut through a root that blocks digging, or a branch for firewood.
Hard ground too. You drive the steel blade between stones and grass roots, then loosen the soil like with a digging tool.
It doesn't slip. The rubberized handle stays secure in your hand, even with a work glove on.
In MAX PRO, the shovel is in the TOOLS module along with a wood saw, a multitool and paracord, so for a stop in the field you have a complete set of tools in a single module.

Materials used - Steel
What is a small entrenching tool for in an emergency kit? You can dig a fire pit, a camp toilet or a drainage trench with it, and in winter you can dig your car's wheels out of a snowdrift. It fits in an evacuation backpack and in a car's glove box, so you can keep it in your car all the time.
The HELP BAG® entrenching tool is made of steel, weighs 236 g and measures 30 x 10 x 3 cm. Besides digging, you can use it to loosen soil like a hand hoe, and the serrated edges work like a saw, so you can cut through a root or a branch. It does not fold and has no moving parts, so nothing can work loose. The handle is rubber-coated, and the warranty is 24 months.
You'll also find the entrenching tool in the TOOLS module of the HELP BAG MAX PRO. What else is worth packing, we describe in the guide to the 72h evacuation kit.
