Plasma Lighter

The USB-C plasma lighter requires no gas or matches. The electric arc ignites paper and kindling, and you charge the battery via USB-C, just like a phone. The indicator on the casing shows when it needs recharging, and after dark you can use the built-in LED torch.

You charge it like a phone. The USB-C port accepts a cable from a charger or a power bank. A full charge takes up to 1.5 hours, and the LEDs show the battery level: 25, 50, 75 or 100%.

In the MAX PRO kit, the lighter goes into the WEATHER module, together with the emergency sleeping bag, hand and foot warmers and a raincoat. From a single module you can light a fire, warm your hands and feet and shelter from the rain. You also get it in the BASIC kit.

USB-C plasma lighter: how it works and when it comes in handy

The HELP BAG® plasma lighter does not burn gas. A 220 mAh (3.7 V) battery powers a built-in transformer, which produces an electric arc that ignites paper or tinder. This kind of arc is much more resistant to bad weather than the flame of an ordinary lighter.

How do you charge a plasma lighter? You plug it into a USB-C port with a cable from a charger or a power bank, just like a phone. A full charge takes up to 1,5 hours, and the battery lasts at least 300 charge cycles. The indicator on the housing shows the charge level (25, 50, 75 and 100%), so before a trip you know right away whether it needs topping up.
