From a pot or a cup. You put the tube into the container and drink through the filter without tilting it and without bending down.
With a water container. The foldable container from the FOOD & WATER module screws onto the straw, so you can carry water with you to filter.
Clean mouthpiece. The cap covers the mouthpiece while the straw rides in your backpack, and the lanyard lets you hang the straw within easy reach.
In the HELP BAG® MAX PRO set, the straw travels in the FOOD & WATER module together with 72h food rations, spring water and a foldable container, so your food and drink are packed in one place.

How does a water filter straw work? You put it into the water, or place the tube into a container, and drink, while the water passes through the Ahlstrom Disruptor® membrane and a carbon filter. Crystal Pro filters up to 500 litres of water from a lake, a puddle or an untested well, but it is not suitable for seawater.
Electro-adsorption technology uses electricity to attract and hold contaminant particles, which sets it apart from mechanical filtering with a UF membrane. The straw removes bacteria, including Legionella, viruses, cysts, endotoxins, polysaccharides, parasites, heavy metals, chlorine and trace amounts of pharmaceuticals. The materials are BPA-free, and the straw was tested in line with the EU LFGB, NSF and RoHS standards.
